There is always something going on in the area for our guests who like to explore the local communities.  

 

Jaques Art Center in Aitkin (about 8 miles north on highway 169) has an art gallery and gift shop. The gallery features the work of Francis Lee Jaques, and is dedicated to the collection, preservation and exhibition of original art and related materials. They host art classes through out the year, usually on Saturday mornings.

Aitkin Lanes has summer hours Monday through Friday from 11am to 3pm, and features a daily lunch special. This is THE best burger in town! Great place to spend some family time when the weather isn't perfect!

The Rialto Theatre in downtown Aitkin is an historic movie house with a nightly showing of a current film.  This Art Deco era theatre has comfortable seats, mini donuts and a fabulous atmosphere. 

The Aitkin County Historical Society, located in the old train depot, will give you a good idea of the life of a riverboat town in the early days. Wonderful literature and displays. Open Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10am to 4pm.

Paul Bunyan Land, with a giant talking lumberjack, 30 building Pioneer Village, Amusement park and petting barn! Open 10am to 6pm.

Fortunato Art Studio: Located in the old Butler Building, this unique studio offers classes and art opportunities for all skill levels.

Block North Brew Pub: located in Aitkin, 1 block north of the stoplights. Diverse menu with lots of interesting options, craft beers and taps. And of course, burgers and Mac-n-cheese for comfort food! 

Rosalini's Pizza: Best pizza in the area! Located just before the stop light on 169 in Aitkin. Also has sandwiches- eat in or take out.

The Locker Room: Tasty wood fired pizza, drink menu, patio seating. Located next to Block North

The Pine Inn: Located in Glen; burgers, chicken, sandwiches and specials. 

The Lonesome Pine: Located on Bay Lake in Deerwood. Excellent drink and dinner menu. Pastas, pizza, pork chops, specials. All you can eat Walleye on Wednesday nights.

The 40 Club: located on highway 210 in Aitkin just outside of town. Good pub grub. Salad bar.

Big Tom's Diner: Located in downtown Aitkin, they serve a breakfast and lunch menu from 6am to 3pm. Fast service and tasty food!

The Roadside Diner: located across from Dairy Queen in Aitkin on highway 210. Everything you'd expect from a local diner. Fantastic breakfast rolls and treats!

The Beanery: Sandwiches, treats, coffee and fun energy drinks! Located across from Block North.
